The crowd-sourcing iniative by NatureSpy to raise money for more dedicated camera traps to look for pine marten in Yorkshire finished this morning, and raised a staggering £1,570!

Over the last 60 days, over 60 people have helped push the Yorkshire Pine Marten Project forward and increase it’s scope.

We have been overwhelmed by the support, emails and contributions that have come through.

The project has had great media coverage, and so far been featured on the local news (both BBC & ITV), newspapers and the radio.

This money will go directly to new project equipment and massively increase the chances of pine marten being discovered in the North York Moors.

The first cameras will be purchased in the new year and be placed in the forests shortly afterwards.

A massive thank you goes out to everybody who contributed. We couldn’t have achieved this without the kind support from a massive amount of people, including those who helped spread the word about the campaign.

Please see our ‘Thank you’ page for all the credits!

Now all that’s needed is a pine marten on one of the cameras!

If you missed the campaign and would still like to help the project, go to the project page and click the ‘Donate’ button on the left.
