This is a story of one hedgehog who happily enjoyed crushed peanuts every night for a week or so.

But then, the peace and tranquility was shattered.

Our (rather itchy) hedgehog friend was enjoying his patch; filled with crushed peanuts and fresh water.

So when a second hedgehog showed up, the stakes were high. Fighting ensued and the prickles started to fly…

With the contest in deadlock, there was a brief respite to regain their respective hedgehog breaths…

Before spikes again flew; one hedgehog decides to go with the ‘bulldozer’ approach and barge its opponent out of the arena…

Almost pushed away

Still, the fighting continued. Until, suddenly, there was a breakthrough. One hedgehog pulled out the old ‘hug and roll’ tactic – promptly balling up…

And try as it might, the other hedgehog just couldn’t budge this formidable spiky ball…

Eventually, the opponent gave up, perplexed. The ball tactic had worked. The patch was won. However, the hedgehog stayed in its ball for a few moments longer, just to be sure.

Peace had returned to hedgehog corner. However, realising it was getting a bit early, the victor promptly bumbled off.
