At NatureSpy, we’re all about helping people connect with nature and birdwatching is such a great tool to do that. But it’s not always practical or possible to get outside with your binoculars, or maybe you just love popping out a few seeds in your garden and watching the flurry of activity begin! Whichever of these may apply to you, we’re really excited to have developed our first bird feeder camera that identifies birds – the WiFi BirdCam Pro. Here you can find out how the WiFi BirdCam Pro can elevate your garden feeding experience.

Unlike other bird feeder cameras, the WiFi BirdCam Pro combines high-quality video, AI bird identification, and a user-friendly app to create the ultimate bird watching experience. In this post, we’ll talk you through how to set up your bird feeder camera and why the WiFi BirdCam Pro is the best choice for bird enthusiasts in the UK. How to Set Up the WiFi BirdCam Pro Bird Feeder

Setting up the WiFi BirdCam Pro is straightforward and designed for convenience. Full set-up instructions are provided with the BirdCam but here’s the bird feeder camera set-up basics:

Power Up

When first using the BirdCam, charge it up fully (until the LED status turns from WHITE to OFF) to maximise your camera’s battery life.

App, App, and Away

Download the ‘NatureSpy’ App from the App Store or Google Play Store. Follow the app’s instructions to connect the camera to your Wi-Fi network and follow the included manual for full details on connecting and pairing your device.

Choose the Perfect Spot

The best location for a bird feeder camera is a location in your garden that is already frequented by birds or an area where you hope to encourage them with regular feeding. Ideal spots are near trees or shrubs where birds feel safe. Make sure the spot has a strong Wi-Fi signal and we recommend mounting the camera so the solar panel can get some sunshine.

Easy Mounting

The BirdCam comes with a bracket and screws to easily mount securely to trees or posts. Alternatively, the bracket has gaps for a strap (not included) so you can strap it in position if you prefer.

Filling the Feeder

Fill the feeder using the refill flap located behind the solar panel on the top of the feeder. The feeder can hold 2.5 litres of food, so fill it up with a variety of nuts and seeds to attract different species. The clever design of the BirdCam Pro means the seed tray keeps gently refilling as the birds pick from the tray. Regularly replenish the food to keep birds coming back.

Then just sit back and keep an eye on the app! Tap on the camera to connect and you can immediately see exactly what’s happening at any moment. Motion alerts will also let you see at a glance what you’ve missed, and you can watch videos via the Playback option. You can also easily share videos or stills directly from the app to other platforms such as WhatsApp, Facebook, or Instagram.

Why Choose the WiFi BirdCam Pro?

We’ve taken a lot of care when designing the WiFi BirdCam Pro. Using this kit ourselves, we know what a product should do and how best it should work. When it comes to selecting the best camera bird feeder with AI, the WiFi BirdCam Pro offers several advantages over other models. You can read more about why we think the WiFi BirdCam Pro is the best bird feeder camera on the market here, but in a snapshot…

High-Definition Video

1080p HD video provides brilliant quality videos, allowing you to see every detail of your feathered visitors.

Advanced AI Bird Identification

The built-in AI can identify UK bird species, helping you learn more about the birds in your garden.

Super Easy Set-Up

We’ve tried to do as much as the set-up work for you as possible, including a pre-installed memory card and internal batteries.

User-Friendly App

After a smart bird feeder with an app? The BirdCam works with our NatureSpy app, making birdwatching easy with features like live streaming, motion alerts, changing settings, and even checking battery status and signal strength,

Robust Wi-Fi Connectivity

The WiFi BirdCam Pro is just that – a WiFi connected bird feeder camera.

No Subscription Fees

The WiFi BirdCam Pro is a bird feeder camera without subscription. Access all features without the need for ongoing subscription fees or cloud storage costs.

Solar Power Option

For those looking to minimise environmental impact, as well as a rechargeable internal battery our WiFi bird camera also has an integrated solar panel.

Squirrel-Proof Design

The BirdCam Pro has been designed with squirrels in mind. The lid of the feeder can be screwed shut to prevent squirrels from accessing the feed. It also comes with a choice of perch depending on the level of squirrel activity. The pre-installed metal perch supports ‘chunkier’ visitors like squirrels, preventing them from snapping it. If you don’t have any visiting squirrels, you can swap to the plastic perch included in the box.
