Our SD card pricing during the global memory shortage

Unfortunately, from the start of August, NatureSpy will no longer be supplying free SD cards with our cameras.

This is the first time in our 12 years of trading that we have been unable to offer a free card.

Why the change?

The cause of this is the unfolding global shortage in memory supply, as memory manufacturers continue to divert resources to supply the ever-growing needs of AI data centres.

We have absorbed these costs for as long as possible; however, prices have quadrupled in the last 12 months and unfortunately we have had to make the decision to suspend offering free cards until prices drop.

We have only ever offered branded, quality SD cards, from brands such as Integral, SanDisk and Kingston, and this will continue.

New prices

64GB = £10 inc VAT
128GB = £20 inc VAT
256GB = Will not be available until prices start to drop.

Note: These prices offer no profit to NatureSpy and are simply to help cover the increased costs of the cards.

Looking ahead

The crisis is expected to continue through to the end of 2028. We will continue to monitor developments and offer the best prices we can to support our customers.
