More About Martens...

Learn about the travels of ‘Two Dots’, a pine marten that roamed 60 miles across Yorkshire from Dalby Forest to Spurn National Nature Reserve in 2023.

Artificial den boxes help us to create safe dens for pine martens and also enable us to monitor their presence and activity too.

We use a variety of trail camera models for our work in Yorkshire, mostly comprising Browning Recon Force and NatureSpy Ursus cameras. The most important feature of these cameras for our pine marten work is clear video footage, which enables the observation of behaviours and identification of individual pine martens from their unique bib fur patterns.
