Building on everything that made the original Ursus popular, the Ursus Nova Trail Camera takes it up a notch.

With upgraded 4K video, crystal-clear audio, and a new custom camouflage better suited to British and European habitats, the Nova offers even more detail and discretion.

Retaining the same rugged, waterproof casing and focus on affordability, it’s a robust upgrade for those who want the higher quality footage without compromising on reliability.

Our warehouse works hard to dispatch any orders received before 2pm each weekday (and some after 2pm!). Your delivery speed will depend on the shipping method you choose at checkout. 98% of our parcels arrive with wildlife-watchers the next working day.

Please note, bulk orders may occasionally take longer to dispatch, depending on size. If in doubt, get in touch with us, and we'll make it happen.

Nova = New

Durable, rugged, trusted

The Ursus range is built to be tough and reliable. It's IP67-rated housing stands up to the most challenging environments.

A robust, reliable and compact wildlife camera.

Was HD, now 4K

A step up on the standard Ursus camera - the Ursus Nova brings 4K video at 30 frames per second. For those looking for the Ursus ruggedness but with better video quality, the Ursus Nova delivers that. It also records in .mp4 format resulting in much smaller file sizes compared to the standard Ursus.

The audio quality is also improved over the standard model - we think its some of our best audio quality on any wildlife camera yet. Crystal clear, day and night.

New camo, same casing

The tough Ursus case has been a proven winner and is one of the core foundations of this wildlife camera’s design. It keeps the weather out and provides consistent reliability.

That means we unapologetically haven't changed a thing about the casing. It does have a new custom camouflage, helping it better blend in with UK and European habitats.

Reliable triggers

Trigger speed - photo: 0.3 seconds - video: 0.8 seconds

Recovery speed: 1.0 seconds

There is a sweet spot for trail camera trigger speeds - too fast and the animal is barely visible, and too slow and you can miss it altogether.

We have made the Ursus Nova as close to that sweet spot as we can whilst keeping the price low - so it always reacts in plenty of time to the wildlife passing in front. Check the footage further down for examples.

Rechargeable options

Batteries: 6x AA

Battery Options: Lithium, Alkaline & Rechargeable (over 2500mAh)

The Ursus Nova delivers excellent battery performance, lasting up to 12 months on photos and around 3 months on video with Lithium batteries.

It also supports rechargeable batteries over 2500mAh, providing a more eco-friendly and economical alternative to single-use batteries. We recommend Eneloop Pro rechargeables.

Set up and go

The Nova has a different menu system to the standard Ursus - clearly laid out in sections and easy to use.

The 2.4" colour screen and backlit buttons make adjusting settings and reviewing your footage simple.

Mount anywhere

The Ursus Nova includes a sturdy nylon strap for easy attachment to a tree, post, or similar.

Alternatively, the robust tripod mount lets you quickly set it up on our MiniPod Stretch or any standard tripod.

Different

We wanted to distinguish our trail cameras from those catering specifically to the American hunting industry, which is the common focus for most other trail cameras on the market.

The Ursus range of wildlife cameras is conservation-first, wildlife-focused.

FAQs

The Ursus Nova wildlife camera comes with a nylon webbed strap, with metal buckle. You can use this strap to attach the camera to a tree, fencepost etc as required. Its also quick to unstrap and place the camera somewhere else.

There is also a standard tripod mount on the base. This works great with our MiniPod Stretch and any other standard tripod.

No, this model records directly to an SD card only, it is not wirelessly connected. To review your captures you will need to retrieve the SD card, or use the Playback feature on the camera's screen.

For a wildlife camera that uses a phone, check the WiFi WildCam 2 or Helarctos.

Our preferred batteries for any camera are Lithium AAs. They have a much higher current and are impervious to the cold temperatures in winter. Energizer Ultimate Lithium are the best to use.

The Ursus Nova can use rechargeable batteries that have a capacity of at least 2500mAh (Eneloop Pro meet this). These work great, but for extremely cold conditions or situations where recharging the batteries is not feasible, we suggest opting for Lithium batteries.

We strongly recommend that you avoid Duracell batteries and cheap alkaline batteries (i.e. ones that say ‘Extra Long Life’ on the packet) – their technology can mean that you get little life and performance out of them when used in wildlife cameras.

As a general rule, cheap alkaline or zinc batteries will not give you much success!

The best way is to check the example videos above this - if you press the 'Watch' button, you can view real-world footage. Be sure to turn the video quality up to full, especially if you're on a slower internet connection.

We only use branded, tried and tested SD cards. We supply either SanDisk or Kingston cards most often, and occasionally Integral. These will all be high-speed cards, appropriate for the wildlife camera.

We don't use unbranded or low quality cards - so we don't send those out to you either.
