A good quality and reliable trail camera shouldn't always mean spending top-dollar. Drawing from our decade of experience, we aimed to provide our customers with a trail camera that offers all the essential features without the hefty price tag.

The result is the Ursus Trail Camera - NatureSpy's first in-house wildlife camera, named for its durability (and the bear in our logo!). With a tough, waterproof casing, it’s built to withstand all conditions - whether it’s monitoring nightly hedgehog visits in a garden or tracking leopards in the jungle.

Our warehouse works hard to dispatch any orders received before 2pm each weekday (and some after 2pm!). Your delivery speed will depend on the shipping method you choose at checkout. 98% of our parcels arrive with wildlife-watchers the next working day.

Please note, bulk orders may occasionally take longer to dispatch, depending on size. If in doubt, get in touch with us, and we'll make it happen.

Solid, rugged, reliable

We've designed the Ursus to be rugged and dependable. Its IP67-rated case means it can put with the harshest of conditions.

The features you expect, in a tiny tough camera.

Great video quality

Video quality is important - we want to see the wildlife we capture in the best possible detail. The Ursus Trail Camera delivers 1080p HD footage, day and night, at 30 frames per second. We've squeezed the best quality footage and trigger speeds we can, whilst keeping the price point as low as possible.

The audio quality was something we wanted to get right as it can add so much to wildlife watching - badgers chirruping at each other, or birdsong in a forest whilst a fox trots through. The result on the Ursus is crisp, clear sound without background hum.

Robust build

Reliability and a sturdy build were the foundational pillars of the Ursus Trail Camera's design. The camera's case boasts an IP67 rating, making it highly weatherproof and ensuring its performance is not impacted even in harsh environments.

It means the Ursus Trail Camera can thrive in anything from wet Welsh gardens, Scottish glens or even African Savannahs and the rainforests of Borneo.

Reliable trigger speeds

Trigger speed - photo: 0.3 seconds - video:0.6 seconds

Recovery speed: 0.8 seconds

There is no point in having a slow trail camera. Wildlife strolls by, and just as it's about to vanish, the camera finally triggers - not ideal.

We have made the Ursus as fast as we can whilst keeping the price low - so it always reacts in plenty of time to the wildlife passing in front. These are also the real speeds of the camera - not exaggerated or inflated as you may see on other sites.

Rechargeable options

Batteries: 6x AA

Battery Options: Lithium, Alkaline & Rechargeable (over 2500mAh)

The Ursus offers a very good battery life. It can achieve up to 12 months for photos and 3 months for video using Lithium batteries.

The Ursus has recently been updated to support rechargeable batteries over 2500mAh, providing a more eco-friendly and economical alternative to single-use batteries.

Easy to use

Having a trail camera that is intuitive and easy to use is paramount. We went over every setting to make sure it was clear and easy to understand.

The large colour screen and backlit buttons make it easy to change the camera settings and check the footage you've already captured.

Mount anywhere

The Ursus comes with a strong webbing strap that allows you to easily position the camera on a tree, post or similar.

Alternatively, the solid tripod mount means you can mount the Ursus quickly on our MiniPod or another standard tripod.

Different

We wanted to distinguish this trail camera from those catering specifically to the American hunting industry, which is the common focus for most other trail cameras on the market. The Ursus is conservation-first.

FAQs

The Ursus wildlife camera comes with a nylon webbed strap, with metal buckle. You can use this strap to attach the camera to a tree, fencepost etc as required. Its also quick to unstrap and place the camera somewhere else.

There is also a standard tripod mount on the base. This works great with our MiniPod Stretch and any other standard tripod.

No, this model records directly to an SD card only, it is not wirelessly connected. To review your captures you will need to retrieve the SD card, or use the Playback feature on the camera's screen.

For a wildlife camera that uses a phone, check the WiFi WildCam 2 or Helarctos.

Our preferred batteries for any camera are Lithium AAs. They have a much higher current and are impervious to the cold temperatures in winter. Energizer Ultimate Lithium are the best to use.

The Ursus can use rechargeable batteries that have a capacity of at least 2500mAh (Eneloop Pro meet this). These work great, but for extremely cold conditions or situations where recharging the batteries is not feasible, we suggest opting for Lithium batteries.

We strongly recommend that you avoid Duracell batteries and cheap alkaline batteries (i.e. ones that say ‘Extra Long Life’ on the packet) – their technology can mean that you get little life and performance out of them when used in wildlife cameras.

As a general rule, cheap alkaline or zinc batteries will not give you much success!

The best way is to check the example videos above this - if you press the 'Watch' button, you can view real-world footage. Be sure to turn the video quality up to full, especially if you're on a slower internet connection.

We only use branded, tried and tested SD cards. We supply either SanDisk or Kingston cards most often, and occasionally Integral. These will all be high-speed cards, appropriate for the wildlife camera.

We don't use unbranded or low quality cards - so we don't send those out to you either.
